Watch dozens of classic full-length, uncut, popular American television shows from the 1950s and 1960s.
Some of the most popular classic TV shows during the mid 20th Century are now becoming available in the public domain. That means they can be watched online for free.
These TV shows, television series and sit-coms (situation comedies) were broadcast on the three major TV networks, ABC, CBS and NBC, in the 1950s and 1960s during the evening Prime Time hours (usually beginning from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.). Often, the shows were sponsored by major brands which dominated the advertising.
If you did not grow up watching these TV program every week night, here’s a chance to see what Americans watched on their TVs.
There are quite a few TV shows whose copyrights were never renewed or were renewed improperly and have fallen into the public domain. There is an ongoing effort to determine what is & isn’t protected but the list is far from complete.
I’ve appended a partial list of, arguably, the most popular shows & the number of public domain episodes of each that have been discovered. Bear in mind however that these are not necessarily consecutive episodes or even from the same season. In some cases “special” episodes (anniversaries, births, deaths, etc) were properly copyrighted with an eye towards future rebroadcasts.
