“Lingerie” is a sexy new cable series featuring an ensemble cast of beautiful people who design, photograph and model lingerie in New York City’s fashion industry. Most of the stories revolve around Lacey Summers, who left a successful modeling career to design lingerie. Lacey lives in a large loft that doubles as her design studio. Her younger brother, Cody, lives a few blocks away with his wing man Russ. What Cody lacks in ambition he makes up for in charm and good looks. He’s constantly popping in and out of Lacey’s place helping himself to her food and occasionally to her models. Lacey’s lingerie is in several NY boutiques yet Lacey struggles to make ends meet as costs for fabrics, photographers and models run higher than her income. To help keep costs down, Lacey decides to rent out her spare room to Vanessa, a beautiful young, want-to-be actress from Seattle. Lacey’s best friend, Marilyn, writes for a gossip fashion magazine and does her best to promote Lacey’s work, occasionally introducing her to investors and editors who can get her work seen. Unfortunately, one of the investors is more interested in ripping off Lacey’s designs than he is in helping her. To complicate an already hectic life, Lacey’s on-again-off-again photographer boyfriend, Jason, can’t seem to keep his hands of Lacey’s models. Jason and Lacey have an open relationship but when Jason sleeps with her new roommate, Vanessa, she realizes she’s had enough. She breaks up with Jason and turns her romantic attentions to Rick, a NY City fireman. But Rick finds it hard to relate to Lacey’s work. Though he admits he loves to see women in lingerie, he thinks lingerie is only good for as long as it takes a man to remove it from a woman. Rick would rather she go with him on weekend adventures, where they could off-road, climb mountains or camp; however, Lacey’s a true city girl and doesn’t enjoy the “great outdoors”. Their relationship soon drifts apart. Lacey decides to take time off from her relationships and devote her energies to creating a new “Metro” line of lingerie which she promotes during a New York City Spring Fashion Show.

Welcome to New York’s Upper East side where the wealthy and connected mingle at benefits and try to deal with their always dramatic love lives, not to mention picking colleges. Blair Waldorf is the so-called toast of adolescence in her world; she and her friends, Kati Farkas and Isabel Coates, go to a prep school and fancy parties with their rich parents. Blair is envied by her adversaries because she is thought to have the perfect life, not just because of her gorgeous boyfriend, Nate Archibald, but because she’s also planning on getting into her dream college, Yale. With everyone worried about college(or procrastinating on worrying, which everyone seems to be doing), and senior year dragging along, her seemingly perfect life is interrupted by her ex-best friend, the beautiful Serena van der Woodsen, coming back into town after getting kicked out of boarding school. Serena comes back into her life, and into the eyes of Blair’s boy friend. When everything Blair knows starts to fall apart, everyone will realize that her life is far from perfect. Will life in the the Upper East Side redeem itself of what it’s really supposed to be? Or will the false facade reveal that the rich have the same problems as the not so rich (Jenny and Dan Humphrey), if not more. And just maybe Jenny and Dan are all the more happy with their simple, not so expectant lives.

Season 1 Ep.1: Pilot

Filmed entirely in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, “Gossip Girl” revolves around the privileged prep school teens on Manhattan’s Upper East side and the anonymous blogger, Gossip Girl, who provides them with the latest rumors about their highly exclusive inner circle. In the series premiere, Gossip Girl is busy spreading the news that “it girl” Serena van Der Woodsen has returned to Manhattan after a mysterious and self-imposed exile. Neither the cause of her departure nor the reason for her return is widely known, but it is revealed to the audience that Serena’s younger brother, Eric van der Woodsen, attempted to commit suicide, and is now a patient at the Ostroff Center. Serena’s best friend, Blair Waldorf, has conflicted feelings about her friend’s return since she has enjoyed being the Queen Bee during Serena’s absence and might not be ready to relinquish her new position on the social ladder, not to mention the fact that she has always suspected there may be unspoken feelings between Serena and her longtime boyfriend, Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Archibald. These feelings are confirmed when Nate confesses to Blair that he had sex with Serena the night before she left while at the same time Charles ‘Chuck’ Bass, the bad boy, reveals to Serena that he spied on them while they were having sex. This is implied to be the reason that Serena left for boarding school. A furious Blair forbids Nate to talk to Serena if they want to mend their relationship which forces Nate to suppress his feelings. Social circle outsiders and siblings, Daniel ‘Dan’ Humphrey and Jennifer ‘Jenny’ Humphrey move in with their dad, Rufus in Manhattan when they come back from visiting their mom in Hudson. Dan has a longtime crush on Serena and his wishes are answered when he scores a date with her and decides to take her to his dad’s band- Lincoln Hawk concert while Jenny works for Blair to get an invitation to the long awaited Kiss On the Lips party where Chuck tries to force her to make out. Serena and Dan crash the party, much to Blair’s disgust, and Dan and Chuck get into a fistfight. Serena’s mother, Lily Van Der Woodsen confronts Rufus, her long past ex about the fact that their children are dating.

Gossip Girl is an American teen drama television series based on the book series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. However, near the end of the season, the cunning Georgina Sparks, Serena’s former friend, arrives on the Upper East Side, revealing that the night Serena slept with Nate didn’t end there – Serena went to Georgina’s apartment and a man died in her presence under the influence of drugs, while being taped. The season also revolves around Serena’s relationship with outsider Dan Humphrey; Blair’s relationship with Nate and her affair with his best friend Chuck; brief romance between Serena’s mother and Dan’s father; Blair and Jenny’s mentor-protege relationship; and the arrival of Dan’s former best friend Vanessa Abrams. The season ends with the revelation of Serena’s mystery, and Chuck leaving Blair at the airport, before leaving for Europe.
