News Petticoat Junction – beloved and successful comedy
Petticoat Junction was one among the most beloved and successful comedies which ran for the longest period between 1963-1970 in CBS TV.
This series was rated fourth in the year it made its debut and it was Paul Henning of The Beverly Hillbillies who created this masterpiece.
The story is set against the backdrop of Hooterville and revolves around a widow Kate Bradley who runs the Hotel Shady Rest with her daughters Betty Joe, Bobbie Joe, Billie Joe and Uncle Joe of the girls. A local general store is run by Sam Drucker. The steam engine train Cannonball running through the valley is operated by Floyd Smoot and Charlie Pratt and this train brings a lot of visitors and incidents with it.
