One of the most violent detective series in TV history, “Mannix” tells the weekly adventures of private eye Joe Mannix, who originally worked for a high-concept computerized firm known as Intertect, but later opened his own agency at 17 Paseo Verde, Los Angeles, California. Peggy Fair was his black secretary, who was frequently kidnapped. Lots of shootings, car chases, fights, and crashes.

Season 4 Ep.10: To Cage a Seagull
Joe Mannix is about to go on a golf date with his friend Pete Pinelli, a helicopter traffic reporter for a local radio station, when he receives word that Pinelli’s copter has crashed in a remote area of Los Angeles County. Mannix uncovers a witness who saw a light plane in the area just before the crash, and becomes convinced that Pinelli was murdered because he saw something that he wasn’t supposed to see — a conclusion that’s bolstered when the pilot of the light plane appears to have been murdered as well.
Mannix starts out in the corporate offices of Intertect, but soon moves into private employ, with a secretary and a batch of clients eager to hire a tough investigator with a touch of satisfaction in his cerebral grasp of the world.
