This western series was short-lived ,but was well-produced by the great Aaron Spelling.

Johnny Ringo
Season 1 Ep. 1: The Arrival
Ringo tires of his life as a gunfighter and becomes Sheriff of a lawless Arizona town known as Velardi. He hires the town drunk as deputy, who repays Ringo’s faith in him when the chips are down.
Johnny Ringo, the famous gunslinger becomes the Sheriff of Velardi,Arizona. All those aspiring to become the”Fastest Gun In The West” descend upon Velardi to test themselves against the great Johnny Ringo, who,it turns out is not interested in that life anymore.
The show came out in the Fall of 1959 in the absolute heyday of the TV Western.I think it ranks amongst the Top 5 of the whole bunch.Like most Westerns in those days,it was dominated by the star:Don Durant. He may not have been the greatest actor of all-time,but he was perfect for this role.I think the latter episodes where Laura and Cason Thomas are gone, are a little weaker than the earlier ones.
The show might have gained by involving Laura a little more in the storylines.
One other thing we can’t forget about “Johnny Ringo” is the fabulous theme song, sung by Don Durant himself, which ends every show.
